Did you know... we've been making glass headstones for 20+ years and we're one of the only ones in New Zealand? It's our goal to make this process as easy and seamless as possible. Each of our creations is unique, sturdy, beautiful, and made to order. They'll handle whatever nature throws at them.

GLASSTONE PRICING:
Glass Headstones start at around $2,500 (glass supply only)
A completed headstone varies in price from $5,000 - $11,000 inc GST. Included in this pricing is all elements such as, but not limited to, a granite base, inscription/engraving, custom artwork, photos and/or vases.Shipping nationwide is also included (excludes overseas shipping).

SIZES AND SHAPES
Sizes and shapes are endless with examples below. Curved tops are very popular. 100mm of every size will be slotted into the base, please keep this in mind when deciding on the height of your glass.

HEADSTONE PERSONALISATION
You can personalise each piece with names, dates & inscriptions, as well as add special touches like dedications, quotes, imagery & photos.
Our team handles inscriptions and photos so it's seamless.
Please keep in mind that ceramic photos usually fade after 100 years.
Here are some things to think about when choosing your headstone:
- Are you leaving room for a second inscription?
- What's better, block letters or script?
- Do you want gold, silver, or white lettering?
- What's better, matching or contrasting?
- Do you need vase holes? (2 max)
- Are there going to be more headstones right behind this one? The light coming through the glass can be affected by this.

BASES
Granite and concrete bases are available, just mention that when you contact us. Your base can include up to two vase holes and a splay (slanted) or straight base design for more information on base styles please visit the webpage of our preferred supplier Maidenstone Monumental Masons, Yarrow Street, Invercargill.
In addition, we can have wording engraved on the glass and the base. For more information on base options, contact us. We also have polished concrete and coloured granite or marble bases. Along with your glasstone, these will be shipped nationwide.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Our glass work can be delivered anywhere in New Zealand within 12 weeks from the date you order. Our glass headstones take at least 12 weeks to create, with a few exceptions.
INSTALLATION AND SHIPPING
The glass work can be installed in the lower South Island or shipped anywhere in the country.
If you want to have your headstone installed in Southland, we can help. For installation, you'll need to budget in around $400+ depending on where the headstone is and how much travel and work is involved.
In most cases, memorial gardens, crematoriums, and cemeteries require permits that add to the cost. Several cemeteries/Memorial Gardens have strict size restrictions, so make sure you check before you go ahead.
Contact your local cemetery or memorial garden/crematorium for their permit charges and information, or contact us at sales@escapeglass.com and we'll make contact.
Please check all bylaws with individual councils before installing or purchasing glass headstones. All headstones/memorials must be installed according to the NZS 4242:2018 NZ Standard Headstones and Cemetery Monuments.
